Blue Whales


Blue whales weigh between 150-170 metric tons. Their tongue alone weighs about 2.7 metric tons. A baby blue whale drinks up to 400 liters of milk a day and grows up to 90 kg in 24 hours. At birth, it weighs about the same as a full grown hippopotamus (about 2,700 kilograms).

Empire State Building


It would take more than 11 Empire State Buildings to equal the depth of the deepest part of the Gulf of Mexico. Its deepest point is 14,383 ft (4,384 m) and the Empire State Building is 1,250 ft (381 m) high and has 102 floors. Eleven times 1,250 ft is 13,750 ft.

Other facts about the Empire State Building: It is most famous for the movie King Kong. More than thirty people have committed suicide by jumping off over the years. Its opening coincided with the Great Depression.
